Beijing Youth Daily – The Color Run Beijing is being held today at the Garden Expo Park in Fengtai District, Beijing. The event became over-registered with nearly ten thousand participants in around 20 minutes after opening.

Started in the U.S., the Color Run is known as the “Happiest 5k on the Planet” and aims at promoting healthiness and happiness by bringing the community together. This event is popular among young people who pursue a healthy life style and freedom. The Color Run coincides with the idea of "creating new urban life" promoted by BCL, the sponsor of the first Color Run Beijing.

The Color Runners will have an unprecedented experience here. Unlike a traditional race, the 5-kilometer Color Run has no time limit. The participants are doused from head to toe by multi-colored corn powder at each kilometer mark. The fun continues when all the participants are dusted by the colorful powder thrown at the party held at the finish line. There are only two rules for all participants: Wear white at the starting line; Finish plastered in color.
